Stinging nettle is one of our most popular herbs and it flourishes in our rich soil at the farm, sometimes growing to 9 feet tall! Handling it for harvesting takes concentration so as not be feeling their wrath for hours afterwards. As another herbaler said, “We can’t lose our focus for a second when harvesting or the nettles will bring you back quickly!”
Touted for many benefits, it can be used in teas, tinctures, and the stems for rope and even clothing fiber.
But don’t worry, the sting goes out of the leaf once cooked or dried. Our dried leaves are sold by the ounce.
Some of the benefits are:
-Gentle diuretic, flushing toxins out of the kidneys and bladder
-Reduces water retention and blood pressure
-Breathing related issues
-Painful muscles and joints
