Yarrow galore !

We have lots of growth on our yarrow over the past week!

It has been raining and raining so I have been having great success harvesting roots (it also helps that I have composted these beds for several years) making the soil is much easier to work with!! The name of the ‘Other’ plant similar to the dandelion is identified! It is Capsela bursa pastoris ( or Shepherd’s Purse). What a perfect name as the seed pods (Capsules = capsela) are on the ends of those tall stems and pop open (burst = bursa), naturally growing in open (fields = pastoris). I love Latin!!
